I looked at VIR's web site and it looks like an amazing facility. I am interested to see we are using the existing off road course for everything or if there is another track for the Motocross events. Only time will tell.
I had the pleasure of visiting the fine state of Virginia this past weekend and while I was there I checked out the local dirt situation. It appears that there is a large red clay content which means that when it's dry it will be nearly like cement, but when it is wet, it will be very slippery under tire and will probably stick to EVERYTHING.
During the past two weeks I have been brushing up on my off road motorcycle skills. I am lucky to have a friend with a Motocross track in his back yard and have had a few days of practice after work. Today is going to be my last day of practice before he leaves town, so I hope the weather is good. If all goes well, I will have some pictures.
Autoblog.com has a short write up on the event along with some pictures from last year along with links to some competitors profiles.
